Cambridgeshire County Council is responsible for ensuring that verges are cut as frequently as necessary to ensure safety for highways users.
The Town Council arranges for some areas to be cut more often so that they are maintained to a higher standard than would otherwise be possible.
This is in order to improve the appearance of that part of the town and create a better impression of the town.
This higher standard is funded by the Town Council with the County Council contributing the amount that they would have spent.
***If you want to report an overgrown grass verge, please use the Cambridgeshire County Council online form ‘Highway Defects’.
